Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

Misaki Ayuzawa enters Seika High School, formerly an all-boys school that has just become a co-ed school. It was infamous for its riotous students and for being a scary place for females in general. With the population of the girls still a minority, they live in fear of the boys’ antics. Misaki takes the responsibility of reforming the school to make the girls feel secure in the tough environment.

Misaki has acquired the reputation as a bad-tempered, boy-hating dictator among the male students after becoming the first female president of the school’s student council; for the teachers and other female students, she is considered as a shining hope. But in spite of her tough facade, she secretly has a part-time work in a maid cafe to be able to help her family. Unfortunately, the reputation she has worked hard for becomes endangered when Usui Takumi, the popular, attractive, and rather impassive student in school happens to take an interest in her after finding out her secret and seeing her in a maid uniform after school.

This anime is targeted for the female audience since it is based on the shoujo manga series created by Hiro Fujiwara. (A Shoujo manga is a type of manga marketed for young girls, mostly between 10 and 18 years of age). But even male anime fans can enjoy watching this, especially if they enjoy romantic comedy stories (my hubby is actually the one who told me to watch this). :D

I hope they'll release a second season soon. The story of Usui Takumi is still a mystery.
